A Calm, Kid-Friendly Approach to Dental Care
At Chompers Pediatric Dentistry, our office is thoughtfully designed with children in mind. Our open concept hygiene area helps make dental visits feel relaxed, familiar, and positive—so kids know what to expect and feel at ease from the start.
This open layout also supports our “tell, show, do” approach. We explain what will happen, let children see and understand the process, and then gently perform their care—helping reduce fear and build trust along the way.
Many children feel more comfortable in an open hygiene area because it feels familiar and welcoming rather than closed off. Seeing other kids having positive dental visits helps normalize the experience and builds confidence over time.
The benches in our open hygiene area are stationary—similar to what children may experience in a pediatrician’s office. This design helps reduce anxiety for kids who may feel uneasy in traditional moving dental chairs, creating a greater sense of stability and comfort.
While many children thrive in this open environment, we understand that every child is different. For patients who are more sensitive to noise or surroundings, we also offer private treatment rooms to ensure they feel safe and secure.
The open hygiene area is primarily used for routine checkups and cleanings. More complex treatments are completed in private treatment rooms. Even so, passing through the open area during visits helps children see dental care as a normal, positive part of their routine.
Our goal is to create an environment that supports both the emotional and physical well-being of every child. By combining thoughtful design with compassionate care, we help children feel confident, supported, and proud of their smiles.
