Why We Don’t Offer Oral Sedation Some parents ask about oral sedation, which involves giving a liquid or pill medication before treatment. At Chompers, we don’t offer oral sedation because it doesn’t allow the same level of predictability, monitoring, or real-time adjustment as other options. Oral medications cannot be adjusted once taken, and their effects can vary significantly from child to child. Monitoring is also more limited compared to nitrous oxide or in-office general anesthesia. For these reasons, we prioritize sedation approaches that offer greater safety, consistency, and control—so your child can be cared for as comfortably and safely as possible.
