We offer both traditional braces and Invisalign® clear aligners for children and teens. The best option depends on your child’s age, dental development, and orthodontic needs. During your consultation, we’ll recommend the most effective and comfortable treatment for your child.

What’s the difference between braces and Invisalign® for kids and teens?

Braces use brackets and wires to guide tooth movement and are often ideal for more complex orthodontic needs. Invisalign® uses clear, removable aligners and may be a great option for older children and teens who can wear them consistently. Both options are safe and effective.

At what age should my child see an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Early visits allow us to monitor growth and identify potential concerns, even if treatment isn’t needed right away.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

Treatment time varies depending on your child’s needs, but most orthodontic treatments last between 12 and 24 months. We’ll give you a more accurate timeline after your child’s exam.

Is orthodontic treatment painful for children?

Your child may experience mild soreness or pressure for a few days after braces are adjusted or when starting a new Invisalign aligner. This is temporary and typically resolves quickly as their mouth adjusts.

How do I know if Invisalign is right for my child or teen?

Invisalign works best for children and teens who are responsible enough to wear their aligners as directed (usually 20–22 hours per day). If compliance may be a challenge or if more complex tooth movement is needed, braces may be the better option. We’ll guide you through the decision.
