Why are dental X-rays needed for children?

Dental X-rays help us see areas that aren’t visible during an exam, including between teeth and below the gums. They allow us to monitor growth, development, and catch concerns early.

Are dental X-rays safe for children?

Yes. We use modern digital X-rays and follow strict safety guidelines to keep exposure as low as possible. Protective measures are always used for children.

How often will my child need X-rays?

X-rays are taken only when needed and are based on your child’s age, dental development, and individual risk factors. Not every visit requires X-rays.

Will X-rays be taken at my child’s first visit?

Sometimes. If X-rays are appropriate, we’ll explain why and review everything with you beforehand. If they’re not needed right away, we’ll wait.

What if my child is nervous about X-rays?

We take our time and explain the process in kid-friendly ways. If your child needs a break or isn’t ready, we’ll adjust and move at their pace.

Do parents have a say before X-rays are taken?

Absolutely. We believe in clear communication and will always talk with you about recommendations before moving forward.
